Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

    Dear Family and Friends,

We wish each of you a very merry Christmas in our Lord Jesus Christ. We are thankful this season for you, who have prayed and supported us in various ways for over 10 years on the mission field. What a blessing it is to be your missionaries! Although we miss you and would love to celebrate the holidays with you, we love being here for those who can't go "home".

    Have a joyous, Christ-centered Christmas!
    For all of us,
    Stacy

    A Taste of Japan

Last Wednesday night four of our dear friends, Yuuki, Setsuko, Sara, and Mayumi prepared a traditional Japanese meal for the Lighthouse community before our mid-week Bible study. They spent several hours in our kitchen cutting vegetables, mixing spices, cooking rice, steaming seaweed, and frying ginger chicken. They were simply adorable in their cooking aprons and traditional headdress. The food was absolutely delicious and the sailors enjoyed the challenge of eating with chopsticks. We praise the Lord for using the Lighthouse ministry to bring many of these precious women to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and believe that God will continue to advance the Gospel here in Japan through their joyful witness. Please pray that God will continue to allow our ministry to the U.S. Navy here in Yokosuka to overflow in providential ways into the Japanese community where God has placed us. Thank you!

    Cadence Staff Conference 2006

We just returned from a wonderful five day staff conference in Okinawa where we enjoyed some rich fellowship with our teammates from the Asia field at a beautiful military beach resort named "Okuma". The winds were strong and the skies were overcast the entire week but this did not prevent Hope and I from wading out into the ocean to enjoy riding some fairly large waves for a couple of hours. We also helped Jenna build an amazing sand castle that somehow lost its battle with the tide. At this years's conference we were joined by our dear friends Rebekah Hager, Mark and Jennifer Oshman, Mike and Lisa Thompson, Gene Poppino, and our special childcare assistant, Setsuko. Our time at Okuma was both physically and spiritually refreshing and we thank the Lord for giving us the privilege of serving alongside such wonderful people here in Asia. Thank you for your prayers!
