No Arms, No Legs, No Worries!

A friend recently sent us a video link showing the amazing testimony of a young man who was born without limbs. As you can see in the video (right), Nick has turned his limitations into triumph through the grace and mercy of God. You can learn more about Nick's ministry at www.lifewithoutlimbs.org

A good family-friendly movie! - KIT KITTREDGE

As a reward for hard work on reports, my mom and I took Hope and Jenna to see the American Girl movie: Kit Kittredge. It was a wonderful movie and very "G"! For those true American Girl fans, the movie doesn't completely follow the story line of Kit's books but it's still very entertaining. Here is a website for the movie: http://www.kitkittredge.com/ and here is a Christian Review site:  http://www.pluggedinonline.com/movies/movies/a0004078.cfm.

Pray For Our Military

Our dear friend, Chaplain Jason Chambers, has given  us permission to  post a portion of his last email on our blog site. Jason is presently deployed to Afghanistan and has encountered more than he could have ever anticipated as a young chaplain. Just recently he presided over the funeral service for three comrades who died from an IED.  His email serves as a powerful reminder that our troops, our military chaplains, and grieving family members need our prayers. Thank you.

Paul,

We do ask that you pray for our safety here. I mentioned on the last e-mail about our convoy being attacked, last night we had a bunker alarm, and were under a mortar attack. This was the first attack on my compound since I have been here. There were about 5 mortars that hit around our compound but none inside the wall. We had no injuries praise the Lord. I did receive a message just a few minutes ago that several of our soldiers were killed in action downrange, so I will be doing a memorial service soon. Pray that the Holy Spirit will give me the right words to comfort the soldiers in this time. I have not done a funeral of this type in my ministry, and don't particularly look forward to it, but that is part of the job that comes with the uniform. We have had an influx of foreign fighters in our area and this is the hottest summer since coalition forces took Afghanistan back from the Taliban. Please pray for our safety throughout the entire country.    Jason

Pearl Harbor or Bust!

Many individuals have been asking us about our present support status as we prepare for our next ministry opportunity near Pearl Harbor and Hickam Air Force Base on Oahu, HI. Over the last five months, the Lord has graciously provided $32,000 of the necessary $55,000 needed for us to establish a new hospitality house for U.S. service members stationed on Oahu. We are scheduled to leave for our next ministry assignment by the end of September as our one year furlough ends on October 1. Please pray that the Lord would give our family peace of mind as we actively wait on Him during this support raising process. Pray also that He would provide us with a rental home on the island that is spacious, affordable, and has ample parking for military service members. Thank you for your prayerful support!

If you wish to give financially toward this new ministry project, you may send your tax-deductible gift to:
